Boys and staff are celebrating conditional Oxbridge offers being made to almost 10% of the Seventh Form. This is the largest number of offers for several years.
Scott Mody, the Vice-Captain of School, has an offer to read English at Christ Church, Oxford; Richard Barker has an offer to read Natural Science at Magdalene College, Cambridge; Christopher Bryant an offer to read Mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge; Richard Chew, an offer to read Classics at Emmanuel College, Cambridge; Shantanu Kafle, an offer to read Law at Magdalene College, Cambridge; Christopher Stanton, an offer to read History at Peterhouse College, Cambridge; and Richard Stanton, an offer to read Theology and Religious Studies at Pembroke College, Cambridge. Christopher Stanton is to be particularly commended - for an offer which requires from him only 2 Grade Es at A Level! Last year, when Christopher was in the Sixth Form, Peterhouse College commended him for the essay he wrote for the Peterhouse Vellacott History Essay Competition.
Headmaster, the Revd Steven Harvey, says: "We are delighted with these offers and warmly congratulate the boys on their achievements. They worked very hard to prepare for their Oxbridge interviews. The boys set themselves high targets and we wish them well as they work to achieve these targets in their A Level examinations later this year."
