In its own building the Junior School has specialist facilities for Science, Computing, Art/CDT, Music including individual practise rooms, together with a well stocked Junior School Library. Class teachers teach in dedicated classrooms, enhanced by resources and vibrant displays, whilst also benefiting from the original architecture of this historic building, formerly the Law Courts of Bury. In addition, the modern facilities of the Senior School are utilised to further enhance the experiences of the boys, in particular our Sports facilities: Sports hall, AstroTurf, Tennis courts, pitches and playing fields, Swimming pool and our most recent addition, our climbing wall.
Both Junior and Senior School staff liaise closely to ensure a smooth transition at the age of 11. Mr Turner, Head of Junior School is responsible for providing an all round education for boys aged 7-11.
Many educational visits are organised to enrich the curriculum. These visits give the boys experience in a variety of learning environments and enhance their enjoyment and understanding. We also have a variety of residential opportunities which encourage the boys to develop independence and calculated risk-taking.
