Guys and Dolls production 2012
From 14th to 17th March, students from the Bury Grammar Schools staged a stunning production of Frank Loesser's musical Guys and Dolls. Over the four nights, over 1000 people saw the show.
Guys and Dolls is a musical fable of Broadway, based on a story and characters of Damon Runyon. The musical was premiered on Broadway in 1950, and since then has been through numerous revivals, the most recent of which was in London from 2006, when Old Girl Amy Nuttall starred alongside Hollywood idol Patrick Swayze.
Headmaster, Revd Steven Harvey, said: ‘One of the joys of the Bury Grammar Schools' annual musical is the coming together of students and staff from both senior schools. Once again we have seen something of the richness of the BGS model of education. I congratulate our students for reaching such high musical and choreographic standards and for giving us such a thrilling and memorable show.'
